Why Study Post Basic (N)

The growth in the medical field has created a pool of specialisation and research opportunities for nursing practitioners to enhance and develop their knowledge of the field. In order to contribute to this growth, Faculty of Nursing offers a two-year Post Basic Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree, which is a research oriented program that provides students with a wide exposure to specific areas of specialisation in the field of nursing. The program has been designed in such way which allows those practicing in general nursing and midiwifery to enter the mainstream field of nursing and develop their skillsets and knowledge in the field. Nursing is one of the most noble professions which not only deals with the medical well-being of the patients but also caters to their mental wellness. The Faculty of Nursing focuses on shaping the practical abilities of the students through a comprehensive curriculum which focuses on both the theoretical aspects and the technical fundamentals of medicine and this Post Basic Bachelors program will allow just that. This program focuses more on the practical engagement of the students in the various fields of nursing which are essential for their knowledge and understanding of the ins and outs related to the field. Not only does the course centre on technical skills, but also focuses on the development of interpersonal skills, one of the most significant traits which is required for ensuring a harmonious understanding between the nurses and the patients.

This post graduate program is uniquely designed to provide students with the essential expertise and specialization in the most honorable profession in the world, to meet the ever growing scope of healthcare. Students who pursue this program are equipped with the vital skill sets which are essential for ensuring the highest form of health for the members of the community. The program develops the practical skills in regards to various disease treatment modalities and the fundamentals of medicine.

Nurses Midwife

An ability to work and adapt to various social dynamics and geographic landscapes while dealing with patients from various cultural and national backgrounds.

Medical Surgical Nurse

An ability to express the value in humanity, and uphold the dignity of the livelihood of the people and fundamental values of livelihood.

Clinical Nurse

An ability to understand the fundamentals of medicine and to prescribe the relevant solutions to the patients and the effective emergency care services

General Nurse

An ability to understand the various aspects of diseases and sicknesses which go on to adversely impact the patients and society and to prescribe relevant solutions to these problems.
